How To Use a Cock Ring 101

This week we've received 2 emails and a phone call asking for a better explanation of cock rings. So I figured more of you likely want to know as well. I'll explain it from the male's benefit perspective first, then the female's. Then I'll discuss how to wear them.

The cock ring's design is to retain blood in the shaft of the penis. There are many different reasons for this. The most common ones are because it feels good, and to maintain an erection. It feels good because of the tightness and pressure. You're simply more sensitive when your engorged with blood. If you wear it around your shaft and balls at the same time, your orgasm will be larger and more intense. You also tend to last a little longer.

The other reason is the most common. By restricting the blood's ability to leave the penis, you get and maintain an erection easier and longer. Your shaft also increases in girth slightly. Most men have "off-nights" where you're distracted but not disinterested. Also, as they get older their erections become less reliable. A cock ring can be used with a pump in the event of serious impotence. Some guys simply prefer to stay hard and keep having sex until their partner is satisfied. A cock ring allows them to maintain the erection after their own climax until their body is ready for the second round.

As a female, there are two reasons I enjoy using a cock ring during sex. It causes rippled veins to emerge along the shaft, which feels really really nice, and also I can tell a difference in girth and firmness. A firmer cock might more accurately hit the G-spot and other sensitive areas inside the vagina. The other reason I like cock rings, is THEY CAN VIBRATE. Make no mistake guys, girls like vibration. And the vibrations are mutual! A female can grind on the vibrating bullet on the cock ring, or simply enjoy your shaft vibrating inside (although it isn't very strong on the shaft).

By wearing a vibrating cock ring, you just turned yourself into the best sex toy ever!

Now for the technical part....How to wear a cock ring.

There are many sizes and shapes of cock rings, made of many different materials. The most common is a simple jelly ring that stretches to 4 times it's original size LIKE THIS. Don't be afraid to experiment until you find one that works for you. Basic cock rings are relatively inexpensive.  Smooth, nubby, rippled are all textures that may or may not matter. Depending on where you'll place the ring, you may want a larger size. You can wear the ring around the base of the shaft next to your body, or around the balls and shaft at the same time, again worn as close to the body as possible. (like a penis bouquet if you will) If you're really concerned about size and fit, try a LASSO. Rubber styles LIKE THIS will be more rigid and less stretchy. And there are METAL RINGS as well for a very rigid fit. These need to be put on while still flaccid.

This is a good time to mention "MANSCAPING". If you haven't gotten in the habit of shaving your penis and balls, now is a good time to start. Your partner will appreciate it and you'll have less hairs to catch in the "rubber band". Avoid lube at first. Lube will only make the cock ring slippery and harder to handle if you're new at wearing it. You can wear it over the condom, or under.

Ok, first start out with as much of an erection as possible. For some men, this is after a bit of foreplay or even the pump. Then take the cock ring in both hands and stretch it WIDE in a circle, to fit over your shaft (or shaft and balls as the case may be). You may have your partner help you if you're uncomfortable. Release SLOWLY and gently (I can't stress this enough) until it is resting firmly against your skin. Now grasp the shaft furthest from your body in one hand, and use the other to stretch and inch the ring down close to your body nice and snug. These are designed pretty durable, so if you're afraid of stretching it too much, then, before sex, play with how much stretch and give your cock ring has, so you'll get a feel for it's capacity. Once you're done having sex, slide a finger on each hand under each side of the cock ring and stretch it out away from your penis. Remove the ring from your shaft and wash the cock ring with Antibacterial Toy Cleaner.

Some cock rings come with small nubs to hold onto LIKE THIS, but they're not necessary, just convenient. If your cock ring has 2 small nubs next to each other, these straddle the main nerve that runs along the underside of your penis. Some cock rings come with a strand of nubs attached like a tail. These are for anal stimulation (either partner).

I hope this helped explain the use of a cock ring and you all understand it better than before. If anyone would like to add any comments regarding their experiences, please feel free.

  1. You explained it very well! I learned a lot about cock rings, never thought that the vibration can also make women feel better.
